KB Tours · NMAAHC
KB Tours sends a guide to meet your group at the museum's south entrance for a two-hour visit through the galleries. It is the lowest price for a private museum guide on this site, and it takes the biggest group.

This comes from the same small operator as the small-group Black history drive, and a March 2026 guest was guided by Kenny, the operator. You meet at the museum's south entrance on Madison Drive, between 14th and 15th Streets, and spend two hours in the galleries with your own guide. The price is $300 per group of up to seven people, the lowest group rate of the two private museum guides here.
Two hours will not cover the building. The Smithsonian's fact sheet counts nearly 400,000 square feet and about 3,000 objects on display, and one reviewer says this tour covers the first three floors. Another praised the guide's "personal reflections on the museum from an African American perspective", which is the real reason to book a person instead of an audio app.
Small print: only eight reviews so far (4.1), so there's less to go on than with the UTG museum guide. The listing names entry as included, and the museum is free anyway with a timed pass. One guest put it bluntly: if you don't want a private tour, "you can see everything on your own for free". Lunch is not included.

Down to the concourse: slavery and freedom, then segregation and the civil rights era.
Community and culture galleries as time allows. A reviewer says the tour covers three floors.
Lunch at the Sweet Home Cafe inside, or more time in the galleries you rushed.
★★★★★My wife and I have been to MAAHC a number of times this trip we brought 3 family members and thought it would be interesting to engage a guide. We were very pleased with Kenny. He really added insights to our visit.
★★★★★This is a big museum and the tour covers the first three floors. The guide was engaging and fun with personal reflections on the museum from an African American perspective.

Yes. Entry to the National Museum of African American History and Culture is free with a timed-entry pass from the museum. What you pay for here is the guide.
About two hours of it. One reviewer says the tour covers the first three floors. Plan to stay afterwards for the rest.
